The public was informed by the Comrades Marathon Association on Monday morning, June 9, 2025, that Moira Harding, 54, of Cape Town, Race Number: M33485, who vanished at 4:52 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2025, after finishing the 98th Comrades Marathon, has been found alive and flown to the hospital for emergency care.
Her family and the Comrades Marathon Association were immediately alarmed when word leaked out that she had disappeared.
Moira Harding Found Safe
She was found in critical condition near the National Sea Rescue base on Point Road in the Durban CBD after a desperate search through out the night.
Her family and the Comrades Marathon Association was relieved and appreciative of everyone who helped find Moira. No further details on her recovery or the circumstances of her disorientation have been reported as of the latest update.
Moira’s sister Fiona Baldwin says they have been on the search for her since late Saturday afternoon yesterday, into the night. involving a police, paramedics and concerned loved ones.
KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, more information will be provided as it becomes available.
