Delaware police have opened a homicide investigation after canceling the Amber Alert for 3-year-old Nola Dinkins on Wednesday, June 11. The first story that the girl was kidnapped at gunpoint was untrue, according to authorities. Investigators discovered that Nola’s mother had made up the story that her daughter had been kidnapped at gunpoint.
Nola’s mother claims that after Nola became agitated when a white man brandishing a firearm threatened them and walked up to them before removing Nola, she pulled over the car.
On Tuesday, New Castle County, Delaware, issued the amber alert for Nola.
