The public was informed at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, that Milwaukee native, Nate White, a 21-year-old former running back for the Badgers, had died on Tuesday night, June 24, 2025, from an unspecified reason.
What Happened To Nate White
It is believed that he passed away while sleeping in Brookings, South Dakota.
“Stuff like this just shouldn’t be happening to young healthy athletes. This is crazy? What was the root cause of him passing away in his sleep??” Dyllon Chamley said on Facebook.
“Nate White has passed away” was the initial statement released by the Badger Sports Beat on Facebook.
Nate was a member of Luke Fickell’s first recruiting class at Wisconsin in 2023 and was a standout football player at Rufus King in Milwaukee. After transferring from Wisconsin, he was anticipated to have a significant impact on the Jacks this season.
Before being sent to South Dakota State in January, he played running back for Madison for two seasons.
