On Tuesday, July 8, the public was informed via a social media platform that Jean Newberry, 40, of Montpelier, Vermont, who was last seen on Saturday, July 5, 2025, had been discovered dead.
Authorities say that in the early hours of Tuesday, July 8, her body was found dead on a local trail.
“Hug your loved ones, say the things that need saying, and keep on looking out for each other. Im very grateful for all the care and support, all the shares and leads, our community.” Meg Cline said on Facebook.
Jean, who at the time weighed about 120 pounds and stood about 5’4″, was declared missing after she did not go to work on Monday. Since it is not her personality, family and friends were concerned and asked neighbors for assistance in finding her.
She would not want to miss a day of work because she likes her job so much. Nobody was able to contact her at the time of her disappearance. She had a brand-new Vermont license plate on her grey Prius she was driving at the time.
No cause of death has been announced as of yet; the investigation into her death is still underway, and the public will be informed of any more information provided by the authorities.
If you have any information at all, please contact the police at 802-223-3445 or her sister Meg Cline at 802-391-9703.
