UPDATE: On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Clovis Police Department confirmed and made public the death of Mark Kismet, a well-liked teacher who was reported missing earlier this month.
What Happened To Mark Kismet
Officers verified that Mark Kismet’s body was discovered in a wooded area in Fresno County on Tuesday morning, close to DeWolf and north of Shepherd. The evidence of foul play was nonexistent.
On June 6, he was last seen strolling about Shepherd and Locan avenues in the Harlan Ranch neighborhood before being reported missing.
According to his wife, Angela, the community as a whole is grieving over Mark’s passing because of his work as an educator. He was adored by many.
The circumstances surrounding Kismet’s death have not been released yet.
“There are no words strong enough to capture the depth of loss we feel with the passing of Mark Kismet. He was one of the most genuinely kind, joyful, and encouraging souls I’ve ever known. Always smiling, always lifting others up with the sweetest words and the warmest presence-Mark was a light in every space he entered.” Ashley Jones said on Facebook.
