With the highest donation of $750, the GoFundMe established to assist the Zavala family following the loss of 32-year-old Kevin Zavala has raised more than $25,000, exceeding the original target of $8,000. Already, more than 850 donations have been made, and the number is continually growing.
Kevin was identified as the man who died after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Epic Universe. The medical examiner concluded that he died from several blunt impact injuries.
“The 32-yo died after boarding a ride that should have been safe. We will hold all responsible parties to account and fight to ensure Kevin’s family receives the answers and justice they deserve.” Civil rights attorney Ben Crump who is hired by the family said in a post on X.
His family wants complete transparency on his death, including access to ride data, maintenance logs, inspection documents, and video evidence. No reopening date has been announced for the two coasters that comprise Stardust Racers.
According to park officials, the attraction at Universal Orlando Resort was operating normally prior to the incident.
According to Kevin Rodriguez Zavala relatives, he was a kind, kind, and genuinely unique individual.
In order to pay for the funeral and memorial services and give Kevin the respect he so richly deserves, his family is requesting for more assistance during this extremely trying time. They much appreciate any contribution, no matter how small. Sharing this page with others would be extremely appreciated if you are unable to make a donation.
