21-years-old Joyce Badon, a graduate of Kelly High School, vanished early on Friday morning, July 4th, 2025, when floodwaters surged into Hunt. On Monday afternoon, Joyce Badon’s relatives posted on social media that her body had been discovered. The result was not what her family had prayed for.
Joyce, a native of Beaumont, known to many as “JC,” was one of three friends who perished in Hunt, Texas’ after the devastating flash floods. Joyce was staying across from Japonica Hills Road in Hunt, Texas, with her two friends, Ella Cahill and Aiden Heartfield. All From Kelly Catholic School in Beaumont.
Federal Judge Thad Heartfield, the owner of the house, claims that Joyce’s voice was the last one he heard before the catastrophe struck.
Together, Heartfiled, Badon, and Cahill received their diplomas from Kelly High School.
The search for her two friends is still going on.
Joyce mother, Kellye Badon from Beaumont, shared: “God showed us the way to go this morning. We found our lovely daughter who blessed us for 21 years. We pray to be able to find her three friends soon. Thank you to EVERYONE for the prayers and support.”
