Police say they have found Graceline Ilogene, the 15-year-old Upper East Side girl who went missing on Friday, May 30, 2025, after slipping into the river in Manhattan. Her dead body was one of three discovered in the New York City River. The bodies were found on Friday, June 6, 2025, the same day.
Authorities have not yet been able to identify the remaining two bodies. One of the unidentified bodies, according to the authorities, looked to be in his 30s, while the other remains is reportedly a male also.
What Happened To Graceline Ilogene
Police said that Ilogene was hanging out with her friend when the tragedy happened and that she was not proficient in swimming. When she fell in, she was perched on the rocks near the river’s edge. She was attempting to retrieve a misplaced object, according to some witnesses, while another said she was slipping in while dipping her feet in the water.
It’s unclear exactly what happened before Graceline went into the river; she was wearing a swimming suit with flowers when the river’s unrelenting torrent carried her away.
One report claimed that her buddy had told her to “get out of the water, you know you can’t swim.”
Authorities had been searching for Graceline for a week before they finally found her.
