To help the family of 18-year-old Syrai Smith, who recently died after being in a terrible car accident, a GoFundMe page has been set up with a $14,000 target.
Priscilla Abdullah started the fundraising on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, on behalf of Rhonda Harris. As of the time this article was written, it had raised over $10,000 from 190 donors and was still growing.
Donate if you can to help her family deal with the stress they are going through right now. Syrai’s death came as a shock because no one had expected it.
“She just graduated from Vista Peak High School and was headed to Morehead University on a cheer scholarship. A bright future cut too short, leaving heartbroken parents, family, and friends.”
Syrai, an incoming freshman backspot on the Doan Dynasty cheer squad, was well-known for her vivacious personality and commitment, leaving a lasting impression on her teammates, family, and friends.
With a 3.9 GPA and leadership in cheer and dance, Syrai’s path was distinguished by both academic and athletic distinction. Those who knew her will be moved by the effect she made in her brief life, and on July 8 at Vista Peak Gymnasium, a public service will honor her.
