After being reported missing in Hart County Tuesday morning, July 15, 2025, 5-year-old Silas Chearer has been confirmed dead by the Kentucky State Police. When an emergency IAN Alert (a notification for missing children with special needs or autism) was issued for him, families were hoping he would be found safe, but the results were not what they had hoped for.

When he vanished, the neighborhood and Kentucky State Police immediately organized to look for Silas, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed youngster with autism who couldn’t talk, who had strayed from his Cub Run home in pajamas at approximately 8:10 a.m.

Forty-five minutes later, the Kentucky State Police in a press release around 9:27 a.m. said they had found him dead in the Hart County area, close to his home, ending the frantic search. It is unknown what caused the death.

As a parent with an autistic child, this happens so fast! My child has escaped with alarms and wearing a tracking device. Not all things are foolproof! We have found him in neighbors houses, garages, under beds in neighbors houses! It happens so quickly! Until you’ve been in that situation, you have no idea what you’re dealing with

As of late Tuesday evening, not much information as been provided.

Make sure to get in touch with Kentucky State Police right away if you have any reliable information regarding Silas’s passing.
