On Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, a sad incident occurred that rocked the Meyer family and their acquaintances. Near around 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Ashton Meyer, son of Travis Meyer, Chief Meteorologist for one of the local TV stations, died in a horrific motorcycle accident near 7100 S. Canton Ave.
Officers arrived on the scene where two vehicles had crashed with Ashton’s motorcycle tragically. Numerous callers at the scene of the crash said that the motorcycle took fire and that the rider was flung from the motorcycle and beneath another car.
Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was speeding, wheelies, and weaving in and out of traffic due to its irresponsible driving on 71st. The motorbike rider, according to witnesses, put the bike down on its side to avoid colliding with a car that was turning in front of him.
After being transported to the hospital, Ashton Meyer, 23, who was riding a motorcycle, passed away shortly after.
