Nate White Passed Away

Nate White, a former running back for South Dakota State, a Milwaukee Rufus King standout, and a member of the Wisconsin Badgers, died Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, in Brookings. He was twenty-one. The public was informed by the South Dakota State University football team via its X page.

What Happened To Nate White

It was verified that White’s roommate discovered him unconscious on his bed at 1000 7th Avenue South at around 6:45 a.m. The first person to notice his condition was his friend, who contacted 911 to report that White was unconscious and not breathing on his bed. Michael J. Drake, the chief of police at Brookings, stated in a statement issued on Wednesday.

All of the attempts to revive White had failed by the time Brookings’ ambush arrived on the site. The Brookings County coroner was informed of the situation and later declared him dead. The corpse was transferred to Sanford.

The cause of his death is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

“Jackrabbit football is a brotherhood and today we are all hurting with the shocking news of the loss of Nate White” SDSU head coach Dan Jackson said in a statement.”
