Nina Kraus, a professor at Northwestern University of Communication, 72, was found safe and taken to a nearby care facility for treatment after her family reported her missing on Monday, September 1st, in Evanston, Illinois.
One day after she vanished, on Tuesday, September 2, she was located.
At the time of her disappearance she was last observed going for a stroll at around nine in the morning on Monday, leaving her residence on the 1500 block of Ashland Avenue in Evanston.
At the Northwestern University of Communication she is one of the first researchers to discover how music helps people overcome neurological injuries and deficits, and helps them learn. She is very dear to the Evanston and speech – language/audiology professional communities.
The Northwestern University Police Department assisted the Evanston Police Department in their search for Professor Kraus. Drones were flown over the lakefront by the Wilmette and Evanston police departments on Tuesday to help with Nina’s search. The location where she was found has not yet been made public.
